A Layer Cake is a great pre-cut to use when making a quilt. There are 42 by 10" squares in the layer cakes and they give a great selection of co-ordinating colours.

Mixed with a plain layer cake or a toning fabric it can be used to make numerous quilt patterns. There are lots of lovely free patterns out there for the layer cake and there are lots of ways you can cut a layer cake. It makes 4 charm packs, you can cut it in triangles, rectangles 4" and 6" by 10" etc. The possibilities are endless. I think that these pre-cuts are very versitile and all the matching is already done for you!!!
